Bi-State Development to introduce next president and CEO

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Bi-State Development Board and Commissioners is finalizing the hiring of its next president and chief executive officer to succeed John Nations. This announcement comes after a national search which generated interest from 150 applicants.

The official announcement of the incoming president and CEO will be made at a special news conference by the Board of Commissioners. The incoming president and CEO will responsible for overseeing the organization and its five enterprises, including Metro Transit, St. Louis Downtown Airport, Gateway Arch Riverfront, St. Louis Regional Freightway and the Bi-State Development Research Institute.

Nations has served as the organization’s longest-serving top executive in the Bi-State Development’s history. He has been serving in the top position for the organization since 2010.

Nations announced in June that he would be leaving the organization in order to spend more time with his family and “pursue other interests.” He will be joining the law firm of Evans and Dixon at the St. Louis office.

According to the Bi-State Development, Nations has stayed in the position for the last six months to help ensure a smooth transition for the incoming president and CEO.

Bi-State Development Board of Commissioners chairperson Constance Gully and Nations will be announcing the incoming president and CEO on Friday.
