Charges issued in Bel-Ridge homicide

BEL-RIDGE, Mo. – Officers from the Bel-Ridge Police Department responded to the 4000 block of Belfore Drive for a report of a disturbance on Sunday at approximately 4:45 am.

According to police, they located a male who was suffering from an unknown injury. The male was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased. He has been positively identified as Lewis Trendley Jr., 36 years of age, of the 1st block of Churchill Downs Drive in St. Peters, MO 63376.

The Bel-Ridge Police Department contacted the St. Louis County Police Department for assistance with the investigation.

On Sunday, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Nicholas Oliver, 27 years of age, of the 1st block of Donald Drive in St. Charles, MO 63304.

Oliver was charged for one count of Murder in the 2nd Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. He is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond.

The probable cause statement reads: Defendant located Victim in the back seat of a vehicle with Defendant’s ex-girlfriend. The Defendant opened the vehicle’s door and a verbal argument began. The Defendant closed the door and moments later re-opened the vehicle’s door. The Defendant reached inside and stabbed the victim multiple times. The Victim died of his wounds.

Detectives of the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
