Chief Belmar announces promotions to the rank of sergeant

CLAYTON, Mo. – St. Louis County Police Chief Jon M. Belmar announced the promotions of three police officers on Wednesday.

Officers Michael Torizzo, Mark Stoyanov and Aaron Meyer were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Torizzo joined the Department in 1999 and is currently assigned to the South County Precinct. He has also served in the Community Action Team, West County Precinct, North County Precinct and Affton Southwest Precinct. Prior to his law enforcement career, Torizzo was a member of the military.

Stoyanov also joined the Department in 1999 and is currently assigned to the Chief’s Office. He has served in the Intelligence Unit, Central County Precinct, Tactical Operations, Community Action Team, Special Operations and North County Precinct. Stoyanov earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Blackburn College.

Meyer joined the Department in 2011 and is currently assigned to Tactical Operations. He has also served in the North County Precinct. Meyer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Westminister College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Washington University-St. Louis and a Master’s Degree in Business from Webster University.
