Eckert’s hosting two-day event to raise Childhood Cancer Awareness

A portion of the funds raised at the event will go to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation

MILLSTADT, IL – Every year, approximately 15,300 children are diagnosed with cancer, according to Cure Search for Childhood Cancer. Across all ages and ethnicities, cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children.

On September 14 and September 15, Eckert’s will be working with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to raise knowledge about these cases by holding a special two-day childhood cancer awareness event at the Eckert’s Millstadt farm.

The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both days, will feature the usual entertainment that Eckert’s Millstadt Farm provides, such as animals for petting, stage shows, fruit picking, pig races and more.

As well as that, representatives from the St. Louis Children’s Hospital will hold activities and people will get the chance to explore a special corn maze that highlights childhood cancer awareness.

“We have been lucky enough to work with St. Louis Children’s Hospital for many years in a variety of different ways, this program is an extension of a great partnership,” Eckert’s Marketing Director Amanda Morgan said.

Along with raising awareness about childhood cancer, a portion of the funds from the event will go to St. Louis Children’s Hospital Foundation, which raises funds for the hospital itself.

These funds allow the hospital to care for people from infants to teenagers, as well as conduct research and have the necessary equipment to provide the highest standards of pediatric care.

“This fall, Eckert’s is working hard to spread kindness throughout the community through a variety of different platforms. Giving back to St. Louis Children’s Hospital is just one of the ways that we are Picking Kindness this fall. Being kind is easy and goes a long way in making people feel good, we are happy to be able to support St. Louis Children’s Hospital who does so much for our community,” Morgan said.
