Man killed in South County vehicle crash

An accident in South County on Sunday resulted in the death of one of the drivers involved in the crash.

The St. Louis County Police department from the South County Precinct responded the accident at 10:30 a.m. and upon arrival officers located a two-vehicle accident. Both victims involved in the accident were drivers of the vehicles.

The St. Louis County Police believe the involved jeep was traveling through an intersection when it was struck by a passenger vehicle that was traveling northbound on Lemay Ferry Road.

The driver of the vehicle who struck the jeep, believed to be in his 20s, was transported to a local hospital for life-saving treatment. He was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted.

The driver of the jeep, also a male, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Police will identify the victim after the next of kin has been notified.

The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction Unit.
