Missouri Gas Energy and Laclede Gas will change name to Spire this month

Big changes are coming to Missouri Gas Energy and Laclede Gas this month.

Starting on Sept. 25, the fifth largest publicly traded natural gas company will now be known as Spire.

According to Spire, the fleet transition started at the beginning of September and runs through mid-October. Residents will see inserts in their billing statements, television, digital advertising announcing the change.

With the change, its entire construction and service employees will switch to orange uniforms as they work within homes and along the streets in the area.

Spire also added that with the new name will come a commitment to better savings, service, and support for its customers. The company said it since its now a bigger entity, customers can expect Spire to keep their bills as low as possible.

In addition to potential savings, Spire customers will have access to a brand new mobile-friendly website that will allow them to manage their accounts easily.

Spire is a part of a larger change for the company’s five natural gas utilities across the states of Alabama, Mississippi, and Missouri.
