ST. LOUIS /PRNewswire/ — Edward Jones has been named one of the 2017 Best Workplaces for Parents, ranked by research and consulting firm Great Place to Work and FORTUNE magazine. The firm ranked No. 6 on the list of 50 companies.
This accolade was based on more than 440,000 employee surveys from organizations nationwide. It considered 50-plus factors that contribute to team members’ success, with a strong emphasis on the well-being of co-workers raising children.
“Creating a family-friendly work environment aligns with our firm value to respect individuals and their contributions,” Edward Jones Managing Partner Jim Weddle said. “Ultimately, we believe offering a supportive work environment for parents and for all associates will make our firm more successful in the long term. It helps us attract and retain the top talent necessary for us to grow and deliver an unsurpassed client experience.”
At the Best Workplaces, nine in 10 parents said they’re planning long-term futures with their organizations. A similar share of mothers and fathers both said they consider their positions more than “just a job,” reflecting the dedication common among parents at the leading employers.
“Our research shows that parents bring a high degree of commitment to their positions and find a deep sense of purpose in their work. The Best Workplaces for Parents earn superior performance from their teams by tapping into the full potential of their colleagues with children,” Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work, said.
