“Judge Limbaugh is widely known for his 25 years of service as a U.S. District Court Judge, although his amazing career spans from his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II to advising our clients and lawyers in significant matters across the country today,” said John Beulick, managing partner at Armstrong Teasdale. “He has dedicated his life to serving others and we are proud to call him our friend and colleague.  Judge Limbaugh is a true icon in both the legal profession as well as throughout the community.”

During his distinguished legal career, Limbaugh has presided over, ruled on and been involved in virtually every aspect of federal law and issues associated with complex business litigation, including antitrust, class action, intellectual property, personal injury, product liability and securities matters. He provides strategic counseling to clients throughout the United States in trial strategy, case assessment, advice regarding jury selection and assessing the value of cases.

He also serves as a mentor to the firm’s associates, overseeing preparation of negotiation strategies and trial techniques.

Limbaugh joined Armstrong Teasdale in 2008 after 25 years as a United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri. He resigned from that role in anticipation of his son becoming a federal judge. Prior to being appointed to the federal bench by President Ronald Reagan, he was the prosecuting attorney for Cape Girardeau County in Missouri, and city attorney for Cape Girardeau. He later joined his family firm and spent more than 30 years in private practice with his father, Rush Limbaugh Sr. Limbaugh was also listed in the First Edition of The Best Lawyers in America® by Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith in 1983 in the field of Corporate Litigation, one of four non-urban lawyers listed in Missouri.

Limbaugh is incredibly active and well-known in the legal community and has held membership or leadership roles with various organizations including The Missouri Bar (President, 1982-1983); American Bar Association (House of Delegates, 1987-1991); Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; Missouri Supreme Court Rules Committee (1970-1980); American Law Institute; American Bar Foundation (Fellow); Federal Arbitration Inc. (Participating Arbitrator); and St. Louis Bar Foundation (President, 2013-2015). Limbaugh is also a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for a year and a half at the end of World War II.

He is admitted to practice law in Missouri and before the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Missouri, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Limbaugh will be recognized in the May 28 issue of Missouri Lawyers Weekly and honored at an event on June 1 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
