Representative Roberts celebrates Thanksgiving holiday by giving back

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Representative Steven Roberts joined members of the community on Tuesday, Nov. 20th for a Thanksgiving celebration at Yeatman-Liddell Preparatory School in St. Louis.

The event, hosted by Roberts, featured a Thanksgiving meal by Carrie’s Corner Market and 200 frozen turkeys given away by Roberts.

“As the holiday season approaches, I am grateful for the many people who have guided and supported me throughout my life and during my career,” Roberts said. “I would like to take this opportunity to personally say ‘thank you’ for the privilege of representing the 77th Legislative District in our state’s Capitol. Serving as your State Representative is one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Roberts was inspired to host the event after attending a Truck or Treat event. He said that it was a wonderful opportunity to engage the community and give back.

Roberts took time during the event to thank the sponsors who helped to make the event possible. Sponsors included Sister’s Helping Each other Reach a Higher Height (S.H.E.R.A.H); Ameren; the St. Louis Carpenter’s Union and Schnucks. He also thanked the St. Louis Dream Center who volunteered to pick up the 50 crates of turkeys.

Because of everyone’s effort, 200 families were able to have a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner this holiday season.

“With perseverance, hard work and focus we have been able to implement changes to move our city forward,” Roberts said.
