ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) and American Public Media announced that SLSO will present the popular radio variety show, Live from Here with Chris Thile, on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Powell Hall.

The announcement, which came on Wednesday, also noted that SLSO will be performing on air as a guest. Notably, SLSO is the first major American orchestra to appear as a guest in the show’s history.

Live from Here airs locally on St. Louis Public Radio, 90.7 KWMU. It is a Saturday evening destination for radio audiences from all over. The variety show features a “unique blend” of musical performances as well as comedy and audience interaction.

“We are thrilled that the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra is welcoming us to Powell Hall and joining us on the program as a guest,” Thile said. “I can’t wait to share their incredible sound with our audience.”

In addition to SLSO’s performance, Saturday’s event will also feature music from Thile and the show band, thoughts from Out In America from comedian correspondent Tom Papa, comedy sketches and more. Other guests artists from St. Louis will be announced in the coming months.
