STL County PD investigating Berkeley homicide

At approximately 9:45 a.m. on September 24, 2017, officers from the City of Berkeley Police Department responded to the 6000 block of Madison Avenue for a person down.

Upon arrival, Berkeley officers and paramedics located one deceased male, 53 years of age, lying inside the common area of the Madison Manor apartment complex. Paramedics on scene believed the male was deceased because of a possible overdose. Once the medical transport team arrived on scene, they observed at least one recent wound to the body. The type of wound is unknown. The City of Berkeley Police Department requested the assistance of the St. Louis County Police Department.

The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.

The investigation is still active. An updated Media Advisory will be sent out when the deceased victim is positively identified and next of kin has been notified.
