Officers from the St. Louis County Police Department North County Precinct arrested two business robbers after a brief pursuit on Saturday.
According to police, two suspects entered Family Dollar at 1125 Bellefontaine Road and approached the cashier and displayed a firearm. One suspect demanded cash from the drawer and was handed an undisclosed amount. Shortly thereafter the suspects fled the scene.
No injuries were reported during the course of the robbery.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the robbery and observed the suspect vehicle immediately after near the intersection of Kilgore Drive and Coburg Lands Drive.
Officers attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit ended shortly after the suspect vehicle stopped in the area in Berwyn Drive and Cambria Drive.
Two adult male suspects were arrested. One was apprehended after attempting to flee the vehicle on foot.
A firearm and items stolen in the robbery were recovered.
One officer suffered a minor injury while in foot pursuit of the suspect. He declined medical treatment at the scene.
Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department assisted in the successful apprehension of the suspects.
