Metro Transit lands $1.75 million grant to add electric bus technology to fleet in 2020

Metro Transit will soon add two pollution-free, battery-powered electric buses to its fleet. The Federal Transit Administration awarded Metro a $1.75 million grant that will enable the St. Louis-based public transit agency to two replace diesel buses with electric buses. The new Link Market food kiosks at the North Hanley and Wellston Transit Centers are now open for business, and transit riders and nearby residents can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy food staples at these transit locations. The Link Market kiosks are open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and accept cash, credit and EBT payments.
