St. Louis County Police responded to a shooting in North County on Wednesday that involved an 8-year-old victim.
The St. Louis County Police Department from the North County Precinct responded to the 10400 block of Count Drive for a shooting, which also activated a nearby Shotspotter, a gunfire detection system.
According to police, when they arrived they located an 8-year-old girl who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. She was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and additional information will become available at a later time.
