WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) will be in Springfield, Mo., today at 1:45 p.m. CT to meet with 1107th Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group personnel and tour the Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD). Blunt will discuss the AVCRAD’s critical role in providing maintenance for Army National Guard aviation units in multiple states, and the substantial savings that operations at the AVCRAD facility provide for the National Guard. Blunt will hold a press availability immediately following the tour.
Last month, Blunt, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that the committee-passed FY2018 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies (MilCon-VA) Appropriations bill contained $32 million for the construction of an aircraft maintenance hangar to support the Army National Guard’s Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group.
