British expert to discuss Great Britain’s exit from the European Union

CLAYTON, Mo. – The Association of Churchill Fellows in St. Louis is hosting Brexit and the “Special Relationship” – An Evening with Dr. Nile Gardiner, former Foreign Policy Advisor to British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.

Saturday, Nov. 17th, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at The St. Louis Club (7710 Forsyth Blvd., Clayton, MO), the public is invited to An Evening with Dr. Gardiner to learn about Great Britain’s exit from the European Union (EU) and the impact that it had on the United States-United Kingdom relationship.

Gardiner is currently the Director of The Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom in Washington, D.C. He is a leading authority on the U.S.-British relations and the transatlantic alliance.

Gardiner recently testified before the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs Europe Subcommittee on the Brexit negotiations.

Many Americans are curious about the United Kingdom’s planned exit from the EU – dubbed “Brexit” – and what it means for the future of Britain, Europe and the “special relationship” between the U.S. and UK, which Churchill often spoke about.

During the event, Gardiner will be addressing the issues which he testified about to the U.S. Representatives. He will also discuss what Margaret Thatcher thought about Great Britain leaving the EU, what Churchill would have made of “Brexit” and what it means for the future outlook of Britain’s Conservatives and other parties.

The event is open to the public. The ticket price for dinner and the lecture is $100 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the National Churchill Museum at Westminister College in Fulton, MO. To register for the event, click here.
