Clayton’s City Hall hosts spooktacular Halloween event

CLAYTON, Mo. – The City of Clayton got in the Halloween spirit at the Clayton Fire Department on Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Walking to the fire department, attendees were welcomed by skeletons, ghosts, pumpkins and scarecrows that were decorating the sidewalk.

Residents and individuals working in Clayton were able to stop by and grab a free lunch to go or stay and sit down for lunch and enjoy the holiday festivities.

While Halloween at City Hall happens every year, this was the first year that Marketing and Events Specialist for the City of Clayton, Kristin Bryant was in charge.

“I was afraid that the weather would turn everyone away, but it’s held off,” Bryant said.

The event had a line up of “spooktacular fun” with City Hall workers passing out candy and lunch. Games were also played and prizes were handed out to winners of the costume contest. Attendees were able to enjoy a hot dog lunch, a popcorn bar and Tasty Treats by Kā-Kā-O as well as the Lucky Duck pick-n-win game, face painting, a photo booth and music.

Dogs, witches, cats, tigers, dinosaurs, princesses, superheroes and more all came to enjoy the food, games and giveaways. Even children came in costume and City of Clayton Mayor, Harold Sanger showed up as a judge.

“This is perfect Halloween weather and steadily more and more people are showing up,” Bryant said.
