Metro Transit, St. Louis Blues to brighten holidays for children in need

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Hockey fans, transit riders and everyone in the St. Louis region are invited to help make this holiday season special for area children, while also getting a chance to win a special prize from the St. Louis Blues.

Metro Transit and the St. Louis Blues are partnering on a toy drive to benefit Fire Truck O’Toys, a local nonprofit that delivers toys to St. Louis area children’s hospitals. A St. Louis Blues-themed MetroBus will be filled with new toys and delivered to children at area hospitals this Dec.

Everyone who donates a new toy will receive a free Metro Adventure Pass, a one-day pass good for unlimited rides on MetroLink and MetroBus, and will be entered for a chance to win autographed items from the St. Louis Blues including a puck, jersey and hockey stick.

To participate, everyone is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to any St. Louis Blues home game from Friday, Nov. 23rd through Sunday, Dec. 9th. Participants can donate their toy at the special Blues-themed MetroBus, which will be located at the plaza on the north end of the Civic Center Transit Center – located directly across from Enterprise Center.

Donations will be accepted at the bus starting two hours before each game and 30 minutes after the puck drops. Representatives from Metro Transit and the St. Louis Blues, including Louie and the Blues Crew, will be on-hand to greet and assist everyone who comes by.

The special St. Louis Blues MetroBus will be parked on the plaza at the Civic Center Transit Center (near the corner of 14th & Clark Ave.) for the following St. Louis Blues games:
Friday, Nov. 23rd, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
Saturday, Nov. 24th, 4:00 pm-6:30 pm
Wednesday, Dec. 5th, 5:00 pm-7:30 pm
