Missouri Director of Insurance named chair of National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ market regulation and consumer affairs committee

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – DIFP Director Chlora Lindley-Myers has been appointed chair of the Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs (D) Committee for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

The mission of the committee is to monitor all aspects of the market regulatory process for continuous improvement. This includes market analysis, regulatory interventions with companies and multi-jurisdictional collaboration.

The Committee also reviews and makes recommendations regarding the underwriting and market practices of insurers and producers as those practices affect insurance consumers, including the availability and affordability of insurance.

“I am honored to chair the Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs Committee,” said Lindley-Myers. “It is important to listen to both industry and consumers regarding issues critical to them and to work with our committee to research and help resolve those issues.”

The Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs (D) Committee is also responsible for the Antifraud Task Force, the Market Information Systems Task Force, and the Producer Licensing Task Force.
