Pedestrian fatally struck in North County

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis County PD announced new information on a pedestrian who was hit in North County.

Thursday, Oct. 4th at approximately 7:40 pm, St. Louis County Police officers from the North County Precinct responded to a call for service on the 9700 block of Halls Ferry Road for a vehicle accident including a pedestrian.

According to police officers, the accident involved an unknown vehicle that was traveling southbound on Halls Ferry Road. The vehicle struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway, a male in his late 50s. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle fled the scene.

The deceased was positively identified on Friday as Willie Jackson, 57 years of age, of the 9400 block of Yorktown Drive in St. Louis, MO 63137.

There is no further information on the suspect vehicle at this time.

The incident is under investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction Unit.
