Sen. Nasheed, Lt. Gov. Kehoe tour local brewery, part of Buy Missouri program

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri State Senator Jamilah Nasheed, D-St. Louis, was joined by Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe during a visit to the Rockwell Beer Company.

The visit on Friday was part of the Buy Missouri program, an economic development initiative designed to actively promote the products that are grown, manufactured, processed or made in Missouri as opposed to the other states and the world.

“St. Louis is the economic engine of Missouri, and to keep that engine running we have to attract and retain the best workforce,” Nasheed said. “Having great local businesses and restaurants like Rockwell Beer Company are crucial to keeping our city a place where people want to be.”

Nasheed said that by supporting local businesses, it also supports the entire state and that it what the Buy Missouri initiative focuses on.

“I appreciate the Lieutenant Governor for visiting St. Louis today and raising a glass to our growing economy,” Nasheed said.

The two Missouri leaders toured the recently opened facility and also took part in an in-person application acceptance into the program.

“I am proud to welcome Rockwell Beer Company to the Buy Missouri program and am grateful for their urban core investment,” Kehoe said. “I am very impressed with how Rockwell integrates products from other Missouri companies into their manufacturing process.”

After touring the brewery and learning how the company operates, Kehoe said he is confident that Rockwell will have many future successes.
