St. Louis County Health and Missouri Department of Corrections to host Probation and Parole Health Resource Fair

ST. LOUIS – On Wednesday, September 5th, the Saint Louis County Department of Health, Missouri Department of Corrections’ Division of Probation and Parole, and several other community-based organizations will come together to host the 2018 Health Resource Fair.

The event will be held at John C. Murphy Health Center, 6121 N. Hanley Rd., Berkeley, MO 63134, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

“This community fair provides individuals on probation and parole with the chance to meet and network with social services, opportunity to learn more about public health, education, and support systems for mental health and substance abuse,” said Public Health Department Director, Dr. Faisal Khan.

In addition to the networking opportunities, the community fair will also offer a variety of health screenings and breakout sessions designed to create a more personalized experience for attendees interested in a specific topic.

These breakout sessions include:

  • Father support center resources
  • Affordable health care
  • STI/HIV Prevention: Community Responsibility
  • How to handle yourself with law enforcement
  • State-targeted response for the opioid crisis
  • Domestic violence

This event is a great opportunity for members to learn about available community resources from various vendors, as well as vendors who may have employment opportunities. It is also a valuable resource for anyone looking to empower themselves, create new connections, and strengthen their community through unique partnerships.
