CLAYTON – St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger appointed Luitenent Colonel Troy Doyle as interim director of the St. Louis County Justice Services, effective immediately.
“Doyle has established a record of leadership and trust and has an outstanding reputation in the community,” Stenger said. “He will be a great asset to the Justice Center.”
Monday’s appointment replaced outgoing interim director Julia Childrey. Childrey will be returning to her previous position with Justice Services as the Superintendent of Operations.
Doyle is currently the Division Commander for Special Operations with the County Police Department. He has served 27 years with the department in investigative, supervisory, and command level positions in all facets of policing.
As the interim director, Doyle will oversee the operations at the Justice Center.
In addition to his services to the county, Doyle has also served as the interim Chief of Police for a local municipality. In that role, he was an agent of change where he was successful in implementing policies and practices to help move the organization in a new direction.
“Lieutenant Colonel Troy Doyle will be a tremendous leader during the time he spends at St. Louis County Justice Services,” Chief Jon Belmar said. “He brings with him a strong resume build over 30 years of service and skill set to lead the organization and its capable staff into the future.”
During Doyle’s detachment, Captain Gerald Lohr will serve as the Commander of the Division of Special Operations. Justice Services will continue to function as an independent agency.
