U City in Bloom will be hosting their 3rd Annual Plein Air Art Festival this Sunday, Sept. 23rd near the University City High School, 7401 Balson Ave. Participating artists will also include high school students.

The painting area is home to many U City in Bloom gardens, historic buildings, parks and a small hidden cemetery.

A reception will follow at 5:00 pm where attendees can meet the artists and purchase their work. Those attending the reception will also get a first look at the benches painted by artists which will be placed on Olive Blvd. by bus stops that do not have shelter.

There will be food and drinks from several University City restaurants. Tickets for the reception are $20 if purchased online at ucityinbloom.org or $25 at the door.

Winners of the 2018 Plein Air Art Festival will have their work featured in an exhibition in the Gallery at University City Public Library this Oct. Along with the festival winners’ art there will be pieces by well-known plein air artist, Shawn Cornell and bouquets from U City in Bloom gardens.
