NCADA to hold facing addiction together event

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – NCADA is holding a community gathering to discuss the impact that addiction has on the St. Louis community and families.

A variety of community organizations will have resources for attendees who are interested in the Facing Addiction Together: Supporting Our Families and Communities event on Tuesday, January 29th.

Community organizations include People’s Health Centers; People’s Community Action Corporation; Queen of Peace; The Spot; Urban League; Save Our Sons Program; Missouri Network for Opiate Reform and Recovery; The Wellness Council; HOPE Group; GRASP and NARANON.

Doors open for the event at 5:30 pm and the program will begin at 6:00 pm at HSSU – Emerson Performance Center (3026 Laclede Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63103).

Attendees will also hear from a panel of experts who will speak about addiction and the brain, the impact on families and how communities can come together to help those who are impacted. The panel includes Nicole Browning, NCADA’s Clinical Director; Dr. Naazia Azhar, Veterans Administration and Pastor Kenneth McClamb, Ark of Safety Center, Inc.

The event is free and open to the public.
