St. Louis, MO. (January 17, 2018) – Lathrop Gage welcomes a new associate to the firm’s Real Estate and Tax Credit Financing practice in the St. Louis office.
John Mueller works with equity investors, developers, lenders and tax credit allocatees in a variety of real estate matters involving federal, state and local tax credits and incentives including new markets tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits and low-income housing tax credits. He also advises clients on various real estate issues regarding the acquisition, development and financing of commercial, senior and multi-family residential property.
Prior to joining Lathrop Gage, Mueller served as a transaction tax associate at Ernst & Young, where he advised on U.S. federal income tax matters relating to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, as well as conducted buy-side and sell-side tax diligence services for corporate and private equity companies. In addition, he served as an international tax consultant at Deloitte, where he prepared and reviewed domestic and international tax compliance obligations and served as a tax specialist on large multinational public and private audits. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mueller received his juris doctor from the University of Missouri School of Law, where he also served as president of the Real Estate Law Society, and as vice president and founder of the Tax Law Society. He also has an M.S. in accounting from the University of Missouri.
