AMM Communications certified as a women’s business enterprise

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Leading St. Louis-based PR, digital agency and talent acquisition firm, AMM Communications, received a prestigious national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE).

The certification, for women-owned business, was given to AMM Communications by the Women’s Business Development Center – Chicago, a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

It is the most recognizable and sought-after certification which includes a process of an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women.

Founded in 2008 by Ann Marie Mayuga, AMM Communications serves clients throughout the St. Louis region, nationwide and internationally.

According to a news release, the firm has grown from initially offering public relations, media relations and social media consulting from ten years ago to evolving into one of the only digital public relations firms in St. Louis. The firm uses the Paid Earned Social Owned (PESO) model, which was created by Gini Dietrich, PR-thought leader and founder of the influential blog.

“This certification benefits our clients by helping them achieve their diversity initiatives, demonstrating their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs,” Mayuga said.

AMM Communications has been certified by the state of Missouri as a WBE since 2011 and by St. Louis County and City since 2018. The firm has also been certified by the Missouri Department of Transportation as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) since 2018.

“It also provides our clients with a proven professional services partner holding a certification that is nationally accepted by hundreds of major corporations and government entities,” Mayuga said.
