St. Louis Zoo to hold two job fairs

The St. Louis Zoo will host two job fairs in the next several weeks.

The area’s free and award-winning zoo said in a press release it will hold its first job-searching event on Saturday, Jan. 27, followed by another on Friday, Feb. 9 in The Living World at the North Entrance for those interested in part-time seasonal work.

In addition to spring, summer and fall employees, the Zoo also is seeking applicants who have immediate availability this winter.

Several positions, including engineers and conductors for the Zooline Railroad, are needed. The zoo also is looking for workers in catering and food, groundskeepers, gardeners, retail and parking lot attendants, as well as a few other areas.

All applicants must be at least 15-years-old. Pay starts at $10 an hour.

The job fairs will provide an opportunity for a screening interview. Background screenings and drug tests are required for all new hires, the zoo said in a statement.

Each fair will be held from 9 a.m. until noon.

The dress code for the job fair is business casual.
