RubinBrown LLP, one of St. Louis’ largest accounting firms, headquartered in downtown Clayton, is expanding north following a merger with the FLS Group.
Five partners and 40 staff members from Chicago-based FLS will be joining RubinBrown as of Dec. 1, according to a statement released Wednesday.
The merger allows RubinBrown, located at 1 N Brentwood Blvd, to grow nationally in the real estate industry by giving it a larger presence in the Midwest, specifically Illinois. Real estate services make up approximately 80 percent of FLS Group’s $5.5 million in revenue.
“Similar to RubinBrown, FLS Group specializes in the affordable housing industry, and the company is recognized as the dominant LIHTC firm in the State of Illinois,” Bryan Keller, RubinBrown’s partner-in-charge, said in a statement.
Chris Langley, a partner in RubinBrown’s real estate group, will relocate to Chicago to become managing partner of the new office.
The move comes five months after RubinBrown LLP, one of St. Louis’ largest accounting firms, merged with Stewart Archibald & Barney of Las Vegas on June 1.
St. Louis-based RubinBrown is tied with PwC for the largest accounting firm in St. Louis based on number of CPAs and is the nation’s 45th largest accounting and business consulting firm, according to Inside Public Accounting.
