Arnold Police Department has offered an update on Officer Ryan O’Connor who was shot on Tuesday.
The shooting is being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The criminal investigation remains active and information about the investigation will be released by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department if and when they deem appropriate.
According to police, Arnold Officer O’Connor is in critical but stable condition. At this point, the medical staff has relayed to the family that O’Connor has a long road to recovery, and his condition could change by the hour.
O’Connor was shot by a handcuffed burglary suspect inside a police vehicle on Tuesday afternoon, near the police station he was taking the suspect to.
The St. Louis County Police Department advised residents not to report any rumors on social media, for they may not be accurate.
