SLSO, violinist Anthony Marwood to perform works by Beethoven, Haydn

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) announced its collaboration with violinist Anthony Marwood on Tuesday.

Marwood will join SLSO on March 15-17, 2019, for an “intimate” program featuring the works of Beethoven and Hadyn. He will lead the SLSO from the soloist and concertmaster positions.

Marwood is described by the Washington Post as having a “golden tone and surefire musicianship.” He returns to St. Louis for the fourth time, following his appearance in February 2016 where he led works by Back and Dvořák.

During the weekend performance, Marwood will be lead SLSO from the soloist position to open the concert in Beethoven’s Romance No. 2 for Violin and Orchestra and he will be the featured soloist on Beethoven’s Violin Concerto to close the concert.
