St. Louis County Police to participate in drug take back initiative

DEA national take back initiative

CLAYTON, Mo. – The St. Louis County Police Department will be participating in the annual National Take Back Initiative on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement, prevention, treatment and business communities to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they reside.

The Department will have 12 different locations where anyone will be able to drop off unused, unwanted or found prescription drugs.

City of Fenton Precinct Station (in Municipal Building): 625 Smizer Mill Road, Fenton, MO 63026
West County Precinct: 232 Vance Road, Valley Park, MO 63088
City of Twin Oaks City Hall: 1393 Big Bend Blvd. Suite F, Twin Oaks, MO 63021

This national take-back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction and will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical drug abuse.

The DEA will coordinate a collaborative effort with the state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from the nation’s medicine cabinets.
