(UNIVERSITY CITY, MO/April 26, 2018) – U City in Bloom is a non-profit organization that manages many of University City’s beautification projects. The organization is not only instrumental in the proactive creation of city art projects, but it is also responsible for the maintenance of all public and school gardens planted throughout the city. This weekend, U City in Bloom is hosting its Spring Plant Sale, which is set to display thousands of locally grown plants available for purchase.
U City in Bloom hosts the Spring Plant Sale every year and sees turnout from a variety of local gardeners looking for plants to add to their gardens and yards. Plants available for purchase come from fellow University City gardens and nurseries, and include flowering annuals, vegetables, herbs, and thousands of perennial plants prepared by U City in Bloom volunteers. This year, U City in Bloom is offering an exclusive first-look and pre-sale for individuals who attend the preview party.
The preview party will take place on Friday, April 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Heman Park Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania Ave. Event attendees will have the opportunity to browse and purchase plants while enjoying a signature cocktail, light refreshments, and getting to meet other University City community residents and gardeners. Tickets for the preview party are $25, and the free public plant sale is on Saturday, April 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All proceeds from the plant sale will help keep University City blooming.
