$200,000 stolen vehicle recovered by STL County Police Department

A $200,000 El Camino that was stolen from a parking lot in October was recovered by the St. Louis County Police Department on Wednesday.

According to the police, around 8:00 p.m. detectives assigned to the St. Louis County Police Department Auto Theft Unit, along with assistance from detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department recovered the vehicle.

The police said they located the vehicle inside a garage at a residence in the 9300 block of Nelan Drive in Bellefontaine Neighbors after they executed a search warrant.

The vehicle, a lime green El Camino, was stolen from a parking lot sometime between 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 9 and 5:15 on Oct. 10. The vehicle, which is routinely featured in car shows, was taken from an enclosed trailer and is valued at over $200,000.

According to police, the investigation is still active and no arrests have occurred at this time.
