St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges to a suspect on Wednesday regarding a Breckenridge Hills homicide.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on suspect Troy Whitaker, 37 years of age, of the 8100 block of Braddock Drive in St. Louis, for one count of murder in the 2nd Degree after he shot and killed 36-year-old, Anthony Jackson of the 3800 block of Affirmed Drive in Florissant.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, Whitaker said he was friends with Jackson but got into an argument in which Whitaker pointed a gun at Jackson and shot him in the head. Whitaker said the shooting was an accident.
When police arrived, Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Whitaker was also charged with one count of Armed Criminal Action, and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Whitaker is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond.
The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is handling the investigation.
