A new company based in St. Louis will launch a line of fashionable clothing for the golf course catering directly to women.
Motherputter, an all-female company, is working to take on the male-dominated sport, by empowering women with fresh new styles that embrace femininity and individuality, while honoring the traditions of the game.
“We play lights out and we wear dresses” Motherputter co-Founder Kim Tuttle said in a written statement.
Three years ago, the idea of Motherputter started as a conversation between Tuttle, her sister Kari Schindehette and Tuttle’s step daughter, Jacque Bardgett. Beyond being family, they all shared a love for the game of golf.
Recognizing an unfulfilled niche in athletic wear, team Motherputter was founded and is set to launch its brand new line on Thursday.
“My friends that golf, Kari’s friends and Jacque’s friends, are all looking for golf clothes that reflect who they are, have some personality and have a modern aesthetic” Tuttle said.
First to market with trendy golf apparel, all of Motherputter’s garments are 100% made in America and include dresses, shirts, skirts, vests, shorts, hats and accessories designed with an updated aesthetic.
While the the fabrics will be performance quality, breathable and move perfectly with a body in motion, they will also remain thoughtful of the expected dress codes of the industry.
“Given the emphasis on increasing the number of women who play golf, Motherputter’s timing with a game changing fashion line is right on trend,” Tuttle said. “We are a lifestyle brand first and foremost, not just clothes. We hope to empower women by creating a women’s golf community. Luxury apparel lines in other sports and fitness movements have done this very well, creating a sense of community. We are filling that void in the women’s golf world with Motherputter.”
The line makes its debut during the Ladies Fall Boutique at Meadowbrook Country Club in Ballwin.
Being an e-commerce focused business, Motherputter will be establishing multiple online parties and coordinating pop-ups to celebrate the launch of the inaugural line. Information on events will be shared on their website at motherputtergolf.com and on Facebook.
